Not that much. Plus the ones I eat at are open plan ones. I have plenty of stories about takeaway type of restaurants/pizza places I am a good chef so I prefer having home food (romantic dinner at home with my partner)
Plus helps me stay fit...I know I am strange

Re: zurich pizza delivery - any good ones out there?

Pizza: definitely Dieci!

Their secret: they have an electric hotbox in the back of their Fiats, so your pizza arrives pipin' hot

Other food: definitely Royal Gourmet, although it's only a delivery service.
Best chili con carne (hot!) comes from "Carribean" on Langstrasse, 21.50-
Best kingsize (1 foot!) cordon bleu with lousy fries comes from "Bierhalle", 27.50-
Best Indian curry: Madras Lamb curry, comes from "Taste of Paradise" (it's in Migros City, Löwenstrasse), 24.50- IIRC
They also deliver from Hiltl (yummy vegetarian), Chopstick (wellspiced Chinese/Thai), Mr Wong (blech), Mexicano (expensive, chili con carne 31.50 ) and a host of other restaurants.
Minimum order price: 40 franks, if you're ordering from several restaurants at once, there's a surcharge of 1.50- per additional restaurant.

Re: zurich pizza delivery - any good ones out there?

Ok this is probably a little off topic but still pizza related. I was skiing last week in Grindenwald and there is a bar there called Espresso. In it my friends and I had the nicest pizzas i've had yet in Switzerland (and i might even say anywhere i've ever had pizzas before). Well worth checking out for your apres ski.
Oh they also have a special pizza called pizza amore (the luuurrvvve pizza). this comes with three toppings and a free condom on the side I kid you not!

I recall a service called Mozi's that combined delivery of various restaurants
You know, I had the idea to run something like this in Munich but was talked out of it.

[Zurich] Pizza Delivery recommendations

For those of you who were as with home delivered pizza's as my husband and I were with different companies (includin Dminoes), here's a solution!

We've found this tiny little place on Hammerstrasse where you have a cute old Italian mama (who only speaks Italian), and she cooks up whatever you order fully fresh!! The size, taste and price are all excellent for what you're getting. They even have pastas, sandwiches, etc which we havent tried cuz it takes abt 40 min for spaghetti... its all fresh!

Her son speaks German so dont worry about the ordering.. Every 10th pizza is free and if you call, order and go pick it up yourself I think you get some 10% off. They're open 7 days a week till about 11 or midnight even on certain days.

Check it out - www.pizzakurierhammer.ch BON APPETITO!

Re: Yummy Home Delivered Pizzas [Zurich]

I once had a bad experience with Pizza Blitz. It wasn't easy to distinguish top and bottom.

This home delivery service is in my neighborhood and makes good pizzas: Pizza Yoyo.

Re: [Zurich] Pizza Delivery recommendations

When I lived in Zurich I always used to use Pizza Kurier which renamed to http://www.dieci.ch/.

Now I only tend to order over lunch times at the office and highly recommend Mosi's http://www.mosi.ch/.

By far the best delivery for me though is Lily's from Langstrasse who deliver very quickly by cycle courier in Indian style Tiffin tins - http://www.lilys.ch/, it can be expensive the first time you order as you have to pay 10 francs depot per Tiffin but then you keep this and trade the empty one with the courier on the next delivery. They also have customer cards which give 20% discount over lunch times.

Brett - I have used Blitz many times in Kreis 5 and always get delivery within 30 minutes. Did they give you an explanation?

Re: [Zurich] Pizza Delivery recommendations

I have to say that I've never been impressed with Blitz, we used to order from them at lunch times quite often as they have a single price for a pizza with what ever toppings you want, it's like they are too big now and can't cope with so many orders.

Re: [Zurich] Pizza Delivery recommendations

Well it seems they forgot about me until i called them up again. After the call they delivered in 30 mins, with the courier blaming Zuri Fest saying all their drivers were on stalls there...hmmm.
Online ordering is maybe a tad dodgy from them.

Re: [Zurich] Pizza Delivery recommendations

Just ordered a pizza and calzone from Il Basilico. Took 90 minutes to deliver. Quality was about the same (IMO) as Blitz and Pirate. I will try them again, as it is a big party in Zurich this weekend.

Did you order online or by phone? I had delays before ordering online - they told me ordering by phone is safer.

Re: [Zurich] Pizza Delivery recommendations

I ordered by phone. Called them back after 90 minutes and they were surprised. My doorbell rang approx 2 minutes later. Calzone was warm but pizza cold. Not a great experience, but I will try again as this was Sunday night and Zuri-Fascht.
