Evening,

Bit of a long shot but can anyone recommend a place to eat near Zurich HB?
Something that is fairly quick and easy but still reasonable quality. i.e. no McDonalds please. Any kind of food is ok, except perhaps sushi.
Tricky part is that it would be for around 8pm tonight and being able to walk in without reserving.

Leave the main station and walk across the bridge to Central. Turn right at Starbucks and walk a few yards up Niederdorfstrasse (the pedestrian-only cobbled lane). On your left you will see a Malay/Chinese restaurant called Chopsticks. It's cheap, clean and serves very nice food. They also do smaller portions for those on a budget.

If it's Swiss cuisine you're after, go a few yards further up the street to the Johanniter beerhall, where you can stuff yourself with variations on flesh, potato and cabbage to your heart's content, then get horribly drunk on Swiss or Belgian beer.

Neither of these is more than a five minute walk from the station.
