I saw this thread some time ago and have been meaning to pay a visit for a while.

I went last night. Restuarant was pretty busy for a Tuesday evening and not just with people in suits.

Service was attentive, friendly and helpful.

I had a 300g Rib eye (CHF 59), hand cut fries (CHF 9), bearnaise sauce (CHF 1.50) and we shared a bottle of Amarone della Valpolicella (CHF 77).

Certainly not a cheap meal but it was a good a steak (nicely marbled, excellently cooked) as I've had here in Switzerland and I have had a few.

Good for a treat or if someone else is picking up the tab!

Thanks for the review. I meant to go there this coming Friday and was wondering about the quality of service and the food.

We went there a couple months ago and both had steaks. I had their sirlion special from the menu and I must say that the steak is far from being impressive and certainly does not correspond well with the high price! I can't remember what boyfriend had (was something else on their special menu), but he was not impressed either.

As for the service, the restaurant was rather crowded and the waiter though friendly was rather slow. The entire experience was below from we had expected for such a restaurant.

OTOH, I will give Ascot a double thumbs up for their very yummy steak and their excellent service. I would go to Ascot anytime and probably will never return to Goodman for another steak. It was such a dissapointment.

I have been there a few times. Both the food and quality of service is absolutely excellent. The creamed spinach is tasteless, but everything else is awesome.

edit: I got the burger and a few sides etc and a different time I got the fillet steak and ribeye. All excellent

Went to Goodman last night. My husband and I both had the rib-eye steak and it was divine! It wasn't very busy, our waitress was pleasant and provided good service.
We shared a slice of the New York cheesecake for desert and it was alright, nothing to write home about.

Very pricey.. CHF 170 for 350g and 400g rib eye steaks, side of chips, herb butter, two non alcohol beers and the cheesecake.

When I get a steak craving again, I will be heading back there though.

The best steak I've had in ZH so far.
