Carmol herbal drops are great - about 10 drops mixed with half a mug of hot water - inhale first then drink slowly. It really helps - not cheap- but go a very long way.

First of all "Hello all!" since this is my first post here.
Talking about remedies for sour throat, the best so far (and I really have a long experience with this kind of problems) is Bioparox (Locabiosol) spray, main ingredient being Fusafungine. If your nose is also affected, then Tantum Verde is the answer, although you need a prescription to get some here. Halls is another good remedy, don't know if you can get any here, in my country you can find it at the supermarkets.
For cough the best remedy is Stodal (syrup).

Re: Got a cough/throat problem? Want strepsils?

Hah funny enough, I'm fighting off a sore throat this moment. Initially I got the only Halstabletten I could find, from Migros, made by Sanactiv for 6 francs. Useless. Taste like candy and you get some 36 of them, I burned through them in 2 days. Only plus, is that they taste good. Like candy. You know, maybe it is candy?

Anywho, I tried to find some Halls or vics around here but managed to find Strepsils w/ Honig & Zitrone at an Apotheke. They seem to be working. Only downsides are that they leave the roof of your mouth numb and cost about 50 rappen/tabletten.

I remember there was some aweful, aweful tea you could boil and then gargle. It smelt/tasted horrid but the next morning you were good to go. Don't remember the name anymore.
