Hello All!

I've spent a couple of hours surfing the web looking for classes for my toddler to take on days that he doesn't have school. I would love to find a music, dance, gymnastic, swim and/or yoga class (or if there are any other neat/interesting classes I'd love to hear about them) he could take in or around the Nyon, Coppet, Versiox area (truth be told wouldn't mind a class in France either - Divonne or Gex area also). The classes could be in English or French.

We used to do the Kindermusik classes and the Music Together classes in the States and they were great, but I can't spend more than an hour round trip in the car to go to Geneva to take these classes, so I would really like to find classes closer to home (especially with a newborn in tow).

Also, any other ideas for what to do with an almost 3 year old and a newborn around Nyon in the cold winter-time so we aren't stuck in the house on those no school days that would be lovely!

You don't say what you found in the Web, but if no-one comes up with better ideas, you could wade your way through these Sites too.
Nyon Tourism and Vaud Famille which seems pretty full of ideas. Even in quite small places in German-speaking Switzerland there are often gym groups for mother and child, then for the slightly older children gym sessions 'just for fun' as opposed to the Clubs which take things more seriously. Maybe the Romandie has this too. Check out your local home pages.

There are playgroups organized by IWCN on Thursdays and Wednesdays in Nyon or nearby. www.iwcn.ch

There are a lot of mothers like you (and me) here in Nyon. So, no need to be stuck in the house ;-)

As others have said, highly recommend Baby-Gym in Vich, for sport, gym, danse, etc.

The Ecole music de Nyon has some music/danse for young children, not sure if start at 3 or 4 years old though. www.emnyon.ch

For music/art workshops, there is parent-child classes at the museum in Nyon through la Bulle d'Air http://www.labulledair.com
