I just recently had 2 extractions after years of putting it off.

The first one was quick, but took ages to heal.
The second one took over an hour to get out, by which time I was wishing I was generally anaesthetized and well out of it!! A horrible experience.

But - it seems to be healing better than the other, easier one.
The only problem is the small tear at the corner of my mouth from pulling for over an hour.
Despite antiseptic creams and copious lip balm, can't seem to get it to heal.

Everytime I laugh (often), it cracks open again......ow!!!!

Any ideas??

There's a med you can find in the pharmacy for painful aphtes. It takes the pain away until healing is complete and it works also for what you've described (happened to me as well).

Sorry you had to endure such a nightmarish experience . I'm not sure what you could use.. I mean I know aloe vera is really good and back home in SA aloe vera products are everywhere. Not so much here. Such a miserable place to have a sore.. Like on the knuckles, takes forever to heal! Get well soon

Would a preparation that helps heal ( and numb) mouth ulcers, work? Is "Frador" available in Switzerland? IT seems to numb the affected area, whilst coating it temporarily to keep it dry - that seems to help the healing.

Someone else mentioned Arnica - I'll give it a try!
Aloe might be good too, for the cut. Thanks to all for the tips!!

Please don't worry, it is not so bad and It is such a relief to have rid of them after years of quiet suffering!!

Mine will be with a GA though- 4 is too many to pull at once with a LA

Clove oil is a natural analgesic.
If there is a tear, just make sure that it doesn't get infected (if you are not on antibiotics).
I had all four of them taken out at the same time as a volunteer for clinical study.

Dynexan ointment, Solcoseryl ointment, or Mundisal gel. They all have a stronger local analgetic effect and are less irritating to the tissue than clove oil in case of prolonged use. However, since pharmacies are going to close soon, clove oil will do the job too, if you happen to have some.
