Couples in Binational Marriages

Hi all,

I am interested in getting in contact with people who are in binational marriages in Switzerland. I am an American married to a Swiss and I am doing my PhD on the topic of binational marriages. I would be grateful if any of you can put me in touch with individuals who are in a binational relationship. Specifically, I would like to speak to married couples who are made up of a Swiss and non-EU member (e.g. Swiss husband and Peruvian wife, Swiss wife and Nigerian husband, Swiss spouse and American spouse, etc.). I do qualitative research so I am mainly interested in speaking to people about their experiences in Switzerland related to this topic.

I would be happy to provide more details on my project for those who are potentially interested or who would like to learn more before connecting with their friends who fit this profile.

Kind regards,
Sundae

Re: Couples in Binational Marriages

Hello

I am a New Zealander married to a Swiss for 2.5 years.
We are nearly from the opposite sides of the earth - and sometimes that is very apparent.
Happy to find out more and help where I can.

Re: Couples in Binational Marriages

Hi...I am an American female (born in the Philippines but have lived only in the USA) and currently in a relationship with a Swiss. We are not married yet but that's just because we haven't gone through the formalities yet. I live in Bern (so do you) so I'd be glad to help any way I can.

Re: Couples in Binational Marriages

bit boring - I am a UK born and brought up Swiss married to a Brit and it's his fault I've moved to my "homeland" of Zurich.

i've registered our marriage but the authorities have been very un-Swiss and lost the paperwork. Fun.
