inter-community school, etc

Hi. Does anyone have any experience with the inter-community school in Zumikon? It "didn't work out" with my half-swiss son in our local school(and it really was a pretty depressing environment). We are looking for other options. I would really like him to be able to mix with other kids who speak English. I am afraid, however, that the turn-over rate is probably quite rapid and that it would be hard to constantly make and lose friends. Any thoughts? Experiences?

Hey, I'm a student at ICS...or was about a month ago. ICS can be a tough school, but it really depends what grade your in. Could you tell me what grade your son was in? I have gone there since I was three years old!!! I have to say though, it isnt the most welcoming invironment for new students, and some of the teachers a rediculous to say the least. I have learnt alot from ICS. I'm in the 6th grade, or was. I have made the best friends I could have ever possibly made. If you are new it can be pretty hard, it takes a while to be "one of the crowd" and if that never actually happens, it can be very tough. If you have ANY questions about that school or about zurich, or have children my age (12ish 13) then I would be more than happy to help you. I no longer live in Zurich, but I would give anything to go back, its my home.

My own kids have been at ICS for the last 6 years and really enjoy it. There is certainly some turnover and my own kids have lost friends as families move away but overall it's not been too bad. There are lots of nationalities there, including many Swiss.
