Looking for an international playgroup

Hello Everyone……

This is my first post. I am an American married to a German. We have a 13-month-old daughter and we are currently looking for an international playgroup - which seems to be a rather difficult pursuit. Ideally, it should be located somewhere between Horgen and Rapperswil. Does anyone have any recommendations or ideas?

There is International Mums and Kids Club in Zug. They meet up actually in Baar near the McDonalds.

Carmen would know of more possiblities closer.

Re: Looking for an English / International playgroup

Ok, perhaps asking for an "international playgroup" was expecting too much. Does anyone know of an English playgroup near Zürich which meets for one or two hours per week?

Hello Emmanuel, i have an English playgroup opening in Dübendorf next week although it's for three hours Tuesdays and Thursdays. I can imagine it's too far for you though. Have you tried putting playgroup Horgen into google. I've just tried and it came up with 3 links to English speaking groups in Horgen itself.

Good luck

Re: Looking for an international playgroup

Hi-

I am a new mom (baby is 6 weeks old, so not sure how much playing would be involved on his part...) living in Horgen and would be interested in meeting with other moms in the area. I only speak English however. Please let me know if there is any interest.

Re: Looking for an international playgroup

There is a Mom and Tot group that meets in Zurich next to the Stadelhofen Station. They meet at The French Reformed Church in Zurich, on the corner of Schanzengasse and Promenadengasse, on the hill above the Stadelhofen train station. It meets every Wednesday except the second Wednesday of the month, from 09:30-11:00. It's $10 to pay for the babysitters, the mom's chat and have programs while the kids play. I use to go but since have moved outside the city so it's a little far. I met some great people though. Good luck

Re: Looking for an international playgroup

Hi,
I am not sure what your definition of "playgroup" is. If you are looking for a childcare center there is one in Pfaffikon Schwyz - KiddiesCare. It is bilingual - they have english speaking trained childcarers with german speaking helpers.

Otherwise I am trying to organise a get together either this week or the next of some mothers and babies in Zurich. Let me know if you are interested.

Can you clarify the price?

Re: Looking for an international playgroup

Each Mom brings $10 to help pay for the sitters. If you have more than 1 kid it is still $10. Hope that helps
