What are the schools options in ST Gallen for kids from UK

Hello to everyone,
would gladly appreciate if someone shares his opinion on what would be the best way to choose the school for the kids. We would be moving from UK with 3 kids. I will need primary and secondary school. The kids speak only English so I assume I have to put them in International school. What are the choices in St Gallen for english speaking children? Thaks a lot for any input!!!

Hi Krisha,

There are only two options for international schools in St.Gallen, and neither have a good reputation for education, but change an awful lot of money. The city do have three integration classes for new children who don't speak German. My children were in the same position and I put them into integration. They now go to the local school and are fluent in German. Big benefit is that they now have lots of friends locally that they can play with, but we have to put some effort in at home to keep them good on their English!

Hi Krisha,
I was just wondering if you had moved to st Gallen yet? We have been here 8months and have two girls aged 6&9 at the international school, however we haven't been that impressed with it and are now looking to send them to local school.

Did you make a decision on where to send your children?

Would be good to hear from you and meet up if you are here in St Gallen.

Debs

Re: What are the schools options in ST Gallen for kids from UK

Hi All,

Hope you are well!
I am Spanish but living in the UK since 2005. I am moving to St. Gallen in Sept (my boyfriend grew up there). Our baby is due in June. It would be great to meet new people around the area! Specially if they speak English as I do not speak any German (yet?)

Regards!
Looking forward to hearing from you.
