Hope some of you have some good tips about this but I'm getting married next year in canton Zug and the arrangements are slowly falling into place. Now though, I'm looking for music for both the church and the evening party in a hotel. Firstly, can anyone recommend someone they know who has provided music in the church (say singing plus some type of accompaniment)? Secondly, I have the DJ v live band dilemma for the evening part as to which is better and obviously, price comes into play here too. Does anyone know of a band or DJ they have heard or play in a band themselves that would be suitable for such an event and be able to cater for a variety of ages? I've already had a good look on the web but I have to say that the English being sung at times was laughable which is not great considering I'll have several visitors from the UK. Any tips or links would be very much appreciated!

I was at a wedding sometime last year and the band that were playing during the church ceremony were good. I'll check for their contact.

As for the party thing, I'll recommend a DJ. As you can always bring your favourite CD along as ask him to play your favourite tunes.

I know this will sound stupid, but my wife (Swiss) has a good friend who heads a band called 'The 60's Club'. I've heard them before (at a wedding oddly) and they were remarkably good (and the English sounded like English). They carry a decent price tag with them though, but if you'd like me to look into it a bit more for you, I'd be happy to. Let me know.

Don't know if you struck lucky to find someone yet, I can recommend you a great british musician ( known him for 20 years), he plays solo as well as with mates and covers all possible tastes in regards to music,his forte however is Blues,Country and Rock.

He just played at the FASC weekend,where the average age of the attending people was 55+ ( me not included ) and they had everyone bopping along to the music in no time.

Depends on how long, how much equiptment they need to bring, what time of day.

We were married in Zurich last October. We used a cover band called Nasca Live, website:nascalive.com. They were great the dance floor was packed the entire night. Since they are a cover band they play a lot of familiar songs that everyone (age 20-60) could relate to. Afterwards the staff from the hotel even asked about the band for future events.
