We actually were lucky that we'd only been at the day care for a few weeks and hadn't paid thousands and thousands in CHF for deposit yet. When the other parents found out what was going on with the day care, they were like...

I would still make a Plan B, C, and D regarding your day care. Things can change quicker than you'd imagine with this sort of thing. At least it did with our day care as well as another location owned by the same woman.
When our day care closed, the city sent the parents a letter stating that other day cares in the city had been given a provisional time period (3 months) to take on kids from the defunct day care.
