Hi All,

Where can I find a store (in ZH preferably) that carry a good number of Avent baby products?

I have seen some in Migros but these are only the basic items. I'm interested in their sterilizers and pumps. I have tried Avent's UK website, but they don't ship outside UK.

Whre in ZH exactly? In Bülach there's a big, good baby shop, there's one in Ditlikon near Ikea, and also one in Toysrus also near Ikea

Just for your info, not sure if you're aware, you may want to do some research on plastics-specifically baby bottles as there is now a lot of evidence suggesting clear, hard plastic leaches...I use the brand BORN FREE, available online and shipped from the UK.

Try babyjoe.ch also there is somewhere near to Zurich, wallisellen or nearby where they have a once a month factory sale, but I think they are only Bibi - the prices are less than half of what they are in the shops though... Will check and get back to you if you are interested.

The baby shop near Ikea is directly opposite Bastalino and a few doors down from Media Markt

I think the one near IKEA Dietlikon is the best baby shop in Zurich - and it's close to Toys R Us as well...

Btw, I did some online searches (Amazon.com), the ISIS Duo Pump goes for only USD259 while it costs CHF724 at Babyjoe.ch!

You can rent a Medela Pump from your local Drogeri and it cost (if I recall) 2.50 a day, which a portion of it is covered by insurance. That is if you're not dead set on Avent.

I have many(more than 5) Avent bottles (brand new) for sale. I have bought them in UK before I moved here (because I researched it and found out that the cheapest place to buy them is in UK). For the op it is probably not relevant any more but for others thinking about what pump to buy I can strongly recommend Meledas Minielectric. I've also tried Avents pump but didn't like it at all. I did like their bottles though.

I don't know how helpful this'll be, but every baby store in Geneva has TONS of Avent products-- in fact it's hard to find any by any other brand! Do Zurich baby stores not have this?

Almost makes me rethink the whole BPA plastics hooplah, as Avent would be so convenient to use here, but alas...

Baby Waltz in Germany have a good selection you can order on line and they will send them to you

On the first floor of the Franz Carl Weber toy shop on Bahnhofstrasse - they have bottles, pumps, sterilisers, storage cups, baby monitors etc - all Avent

(my son nearly had a nervous breakdown, when all the shelves containing Thomas the Tank Engine toys had been replaced by Avent products!! Luckily Thomas and friends had just moved around the corner!)

My little lad chokes on Avent bottles, even the smallest teat size seems to come out too fast. We use Dodie bottles for the expressed Bubgrub.

If you ask, your doctor will write you a rechnung for your breast pump, which will then be paid by your insurer. (At least ours did, and that was on the recommendation of a Swiss friend.)

The baby shop in Dietlikon is not only directly opposite the pet food store, it is also directly opposite two of the largest and finest purveyors of hard-core **** / love-equipment in the Zürich area, a fact that demonstrates beyond doubt that the swiss do indeed have a wicked sense of humour (at least the town / retail park planners do).
