child care benefit

hi,
I have recently relocated to Zurich. I wanted to understand how the child care benefit works in Switzerland. Any links which explain this?

Indeed.

On the other hand, if no-one works, NO benefit!

Re: child care benefit

So if the husband works and the wife stays home, the husband fills out the form? Do different cantons have different standards/amounts? if so, what is it for Vaud?

Yes, as it is paid by his employer.

And yes, the amount varies by canton.

Re: child care benefit

If you work, it is paid by the company and reimbursed by the Canton. If you are not working, it is paid by the Canton. The minimum is CHF 200 per month and each Canton can choose to pay more. The minimum goes up to CHF 250 per month at some point in their teen years. Found a link, benefit goes up at 16yrs
