English speaking dentists / dental hygienists in Zug?

Can anyone recommend an english speaking dentist in Zug, preferably connected to a hygienist so I just have to go to one place?
Thanks

Re: Dentist in Zug?

I can. Half of our company is going to this guy. His is married apparently to and English lady, speaks good English and is very pleasant and seams to know his job well. He works in a big surgery, hygienist also available and I have actually used both.

Dr Olivier Buholzer, tel: + 41 711 2620, don’t remember exact address, but on Poststrasse behind Gran Café.

Enjoy.

[Dentist] Recommendations and costs in Zug?

Dear All,

Having searched the forum I found some good info about pediatric dentists, but none for us non-kids amongst us...

AM853 gave this good contact: "Dr Olivier Buholzer, tel: + 41 711 2620, on Poststrasse behind Gran Café". I'll look in to that for sure."

But does any one know any others and can say how painful it would be on the pocket to get a filling and a wisdom tooth pulled? does it also vary in cost from kanton to kanton?

Thanks in advance for your help

Puddy

I had a filling done last month and the cost was 157.60

Dental hygenist - Zug

I am looking for an english speaking dental hygenist reasonable cost but high quality. I need a full and thorough clean. Does anyone know a good place / person? It could be a dental praxis but with good hygenists working there.

Thanks!

Re: English speaking dentists / dental hygienists in Zug?

Unless your Health insurance covers your dental costs fully, you will be forking out a ton of cash for dentists here.

Its cheaper, especially for extensive dental work, to fly to prague, pay for it there and fly back. Price incl. tickets is still cheaper lol

I can recommend a good english speaking dentist over there if u r interested. I was blown away by how clean and precise he was and how he described everything he was doing to your teeth in detail to make sure you know exactly what is happening. It well worth it for sure Tried one in Poland once and lest say I wont be doing it again.

Hi Australian

I have been very happy with Susan Schlessinger who is the best dental hygienist I have ever been too. Very gentle and efficient. Her praxis is in Zurich, close to the Binz station (S10 train)
A friend recommended her to me as well, she seems to be quite popular! But to be honest, living in Zug, it's a bit too far away for us. And we need a dentist anyway

We all go to Dr Alan Kruger (just as Bobby.Buchi) and are really happy! He's quite a nice guy and very gentle. I was really glad when he told me that the orginally planned dental reconstruction/implant wasn't necessary and that there is an easier und cheaper solution. Plus he's good with kids

His dental practice is in Steinhausen, only 10 minutes away from Zug by bus. His homepage is www.dentist-zug.ch (or for the German version you click on the Swiss flag which refers you to www.zahnarzt-in-steinhausen.ch)

Kruger is good, does excellent work but is a little on the expensive side, still, you know you are getting quality work with him.

I just checked out the link for the zahnarztzentrum. It looks really swank. But what is the quality like? Has anyone been there? It appears that most of the docs are foreigners (German, Italian). Are they great? Or is it cheap, and you get what you pay for?

i recently read about people who use (supervised) dental students for a fraction of the price. Does anyone know if this is done here in switzerland as well, or has anyone had experience doing this?

I know excellent dentists in Poland and I always do it there. Not sure why you decided "not to do it there" but you simply had bad experience. As anywhere else you have to make your choice carefully. The experience might be bad if you don't speak the local language and I guess you don't but I wouldn't advise people here not to do it in Poland. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I can recomnend very good dentists in Warsaw.

My true story:

Thirty years ago, while studying dental hygiene, at a US Dental School, I had a dental school boyfriend. He was a serious and talented young student, but inexperienced. He needed points for gold (at the time the "gold standard"..) so he asked if he could remove my three simple chewing surface amalgams and replace them with gold inlays.....

Within the year, I had three root canals and three full crowns....which have been replaced and replaced over the years. One is now an implant.....

BEST advice....get good professionals for your teeth....you shall save your teeth and your money, over time.

Me and my husband go to the zahnarztzzentrum and are very happy. Prices are similar to London, they speak English and good service and very clean.
