Good morning
I was diagnosed with kerataconus about 10 years ago (before moving to Switzerland), since I've been here I only saw one opthalmologist who was either not interested in treating me or didn't think it was too bad and he told me not to worry about it. I've since gotten my spectacles at Fielmann and have been very happy with the 3 pairs I've gotten from them since until I went for a check up and new glasses on Saturday. After a few initial/standard tests, the optician immediately said there was no point giving me new glasses as my eyesite had become so bad and I would have to go to a specialist, which he recommended - I have an appointment at
IROC this week. I called up Sanitas to enquire what would be covered by my insurance in terms of either needing new RGP contact lenses or worst-case-scenario if I needed some sort of surgery. I was told that lenses were covered but if I needed surgery it would have to be motivated by the doctor and then evaluated by Sanitas.
(Finally a question!) What I would really like to know from the EF community is if anyone else has had any experience with kerataconus and what I could expect in the worse case (I currently have less than 5% vision in my left eye, so worse case is likely

) Also, if you've had any personal experience with this, have you had treatment here in Switzerland and were you happy with it?
Thank you for taking the time and my apogologies for the long winded post.
