globegarden - bilingual childcare center

these guys (globegarden) are great if you're looking for childcare! they have a couple of different centers around zurich and zug (and one in basel) and i'd recommend visiting a couple to get to know the staff... my 2 year old is super happy there (he visits just 3 times per week so that him mum can do the laundry without taking 5 hours for it and can do a bit of work to afford the odd holiday), he loves his teachers and the loads of outdoor activities

I saw that there is one in Seefeld too now. Do you know if you can just register for half days? I am looking for somewhere for my daughter to attend in the afternoons (3 x per week).

Re: globegarden - bilingual childcare center

How old is your daughter ?

There is an english-speaking preschool near seefeld called 'children first' - www.childrenfirst.ch - they might have an afternoon place available.

As their website says, they are 'small, personal and friendly' - I worked there for a year and would have happily stayed...moved on to specialise in 0-3, but they do take just a few children into their group who are under 3, most are 3-5 year olds.

Re: globegarden - bilingual childcare center

There is another thread about Globegarden with mixed views about the service they offer. I would check it out before sending my child there.

Re: globegarden - bilingual childcare center

Another Globegarten thread. Maybe this is the one meant.

As I said in that thread, I am always suspicious of 'extreme' opinions posted by new members (whether new by join date, or just non-posters) as I feel they may have a biased version of any situation.

Anyone 'positive' could be working for the place or recommending it by request of the owner/staff, and the 'negatives' could simply be unhappy parents but they might be owners or workers at a similar institution trying to make negative publicity.
