Dear all, I am new to the forum but would like to share my positive experience of IVF in Geneva with you. After trying a few doctors in the area, we eventually found a brilliant doctor / person. I add the word person because Doctor Pascal Mock really has a very personal touch, unlike any other doctor we have dealt with. He is extremely professional and you feel right at ease when you enter his calm rooms, where there is calming music playing and beautiful candles burning. His team is so professional and always have a smile on their face. We went straight into the ivf cycle as per his first recommendation. In preparation for the ivf he recommended that we visit a nutritionist who was excellent and identified a few areas to focus on. Her name is Sandra Badel and she is based at the Grangette in Geneva. Her number is +41223480509. We really felt like Doctor Mock was taking a holistic approach with us and making sure that we were in good shape for the ivf. The ivf procedure ran very smoothly with an excellent team at the Grangette clinic. The whole proceedure cost around 10 000 chf. Throughout the treatment, doctor's appointments, blood tests etc....Doctor Mock made us feel calm and took away any anxiety which may have crept in. We were amazed how relaxed we were. He made excellent decisions and finally we do have a positive result which we are very pleased about. We continue with Doctor Mock for 5 months, as he monitors me every 10 days or so and has maintained the same professionalism and personal touch. He played a very large role in our state of mind throughout what is suppose to be a very stressful time. I cannot recommend him enough. His phone number is +41223202000. He also has a website which is http://www.bioivf.com/
PS: A BIG BONUS is that he speaks English very well.

Re: IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

Does anyone know if you have to be legally married to pursue fertility treatment in Switzerland? I heard that for IVF you have to be married. Bizarre. Also, I am interested in the most aggressive IVF available, even if that means trying it in another country, so I am open to people's suggestions. Thanks!

You do not have to be married, but you have to be a couple:

See Art. 3 Federal Act of 18 December 1998 on Medically Assisted Reproduction (Reproductive Medicine Act, RMA)

Re: IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

What do you class as agressive treatment? high doses of FSH?

I would say the Swiss practice is not so agressive. My doctor didn't want to produce lots of eggs due to the risk of OHSS

I developed OHSS on a low dose with not many eggs and it was pretty awful, (hospitalised for a week) I dread to think how worse I would have been had I been given high doses of FSH and got double the amount of eggs

However I know many people who have gone to the jinemed in istanbul and had very successful cycles. I would consider going there due to it being a lot cheaper and the quality of the treatment if I was to have another cycle

Re: IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

If aggressive IVF means aggressive (high) stimulation it may also end up with high amount but very poor quality of eggs (oocytes). The best would be 8-10 oocytes per IVF cycle.

Australia is know to be leading country in IVF.
But in Europe - Poland and Hungary are countries where you receive treatment from world class experts. Both countries work with the newest techniques - not all are available in CH, new clinics and competitive prices and almost everyone speaks English.

Plus in Poland there is UEFA this year !!! Another good excuse to take off from work
