Babysitting exchange Wil (kanton St. Gallen)

i have 2 boys, my youngest just turned 1 yesterday & my oldest is 3. i work 2 days a week & currently they go to daycare one day & are home w/my husband the other day. however we have decided, financially, we need to try to change our situation.

we'd like to find a childcare swap situation where someone could watch our 2 boys on tuesdays & wednesdays when i'm at work, in exchange i would watch your kids on any of the other days (monday, thursday, or friday). ideally they would be full days either in your home or ours, depending on location, convenience, etc...

i prefer no more than 2 kids also & hope to find some that are in a similar age range, although 2 toddlers would be fine, rather than a baby/babies & toddlers, however i'm open.

i was a teacher in the u.s. and have a lot of childcare experience in addition to being a mother of my own children! please contact me if you're interested in pursuing this situation.

Hi,
I live in Wil too and possibly my niece would require babysitting. Are you still in need of a baby siting exchange? I am an Early childhood educator from NZ and would love to meet someone in my field. If you are keen we could have a catch up over coffee in Wil. Do let me know.
Cheers!

I missed this thread at the time- and am wondering how you got on. But first of all BRAVO - I love it when people try to find solutions like that, instead of wasting energy complaining about cost and lack of facilities. Brilliant idea. I did that with a friend when I went back to study as a young mum, and later we started a babysitting circle in our village in the UK- and it was great (apart from one member who clocked up more than 100 hours but was never able to babysit herself, then left the area... hmm).

Friends of ours also started their own kindergarten in Paris- asked their local admin to help with finding a suitable place, all parents taking sharing the duties and with one member of qualified staff employed by the 4 families- it worked really well. No reason it could not work here. If people talk to their local Commune/Gemeinde, they'd be surprised how keen they are to help, and to invest in the scheme too. Our local area education department is brilliant with such initiatives, with plenty of help and support, practical and financial- even putting together a lunch scheme.
