Bad immune system

I do not know what to do. For more than a month I have had a blow my nose, no fever, anything. And for a week slight cough in the evenings and in the morning when I wake up.
I always dress up warm enough, started to sleep with a scarf, now it feels a bit better. I had my tonsils removed some years ago.
Do you know any natural plants or anything? I do not want to use any more chemistry. I have too many white blood cells in my blood, it is so strange, in theory I should be Miss Invincible then, no?

Re: Bad immune system

Could it maybe be an allergy? Hay fever perhaps?

Re: Bad immune system

You could try a course of Echinacea, it's a herb which is thought to boost the immune system. It is taken for a few weeks then stopped as overuse negates it's benefits. Could try a multivitamin or vitamin c and zinc cap? Besides that, lots of fruit and vegetables, water, rest, exercise, not too much sugar. You know the score, I'm sure

Re: Bad immune system

Improving diet and getting regular exercise will beat any "natural" crap that's sold as an alternative to "chemicals".

I'd put money on it being hayfever - I never suffered before I moved here but there are different plants and different pollen and you may be susceptible. Tree pollen can be especially harsh to some people.

(Trying to bite my tongue on the "don't want to use chemicals - want to use plants instead" thing)

Re: Bad immune system

Hayfever.... If you want to avoid medicen (why I don't know... but antihistamines play havoc with me so....) local honey is a good way to 'innoculate' yourself against local pollen. Of course it takes months, so you probably won't feel the effect until next year when whatever pollen you are having a reaction too comes out again.

p.s. hayfever is your body reacting to plants trying to have sex to your nose..... it's perfectly natural process... but it's still wrong IMO.

By the way, make sure you take as much of that chemical compound H2O as possible. Stay away from 'natural' things like cyanide.

Ah yes ... welcome to the land of allergies.

I thought I`d got acclimatised to all this shite by now ....... but no, I got hit last week, again!

Dry weather, wind, sunshine, pollent flying all over the place ...... next day began coughing my lungs out ...... cotton wool head, really ill feeling. Thought it was allergy only, a week later have figured it also included some form of `flu - immune low due to pollen, welcomed the `flu bug?

Take honey, but the pure stuff in honeycombe, chew the wax till it dissolves (you can find the honeycombe in Turkish shops).
Vicks helps - up the nose, rub into glands below ears, chest, soles of feet.
Put some in hot water and inhale vapour.
Weleda make a good cough mixture to enable you to at least sleep without coughing all night.
Clean where you live .... ALL the pollen dust! Clean windows, shutters, vacuum walls and ceilings.
Wash your hair every night - to prevent pollen dust in bed/pillows. And wash hands all day long.

I`m not the only one in my area with these symptoms. For some reason this year is particularly bad for allergies from pollens.
