Atupris HMO Health Insurance

Hi,

I recently received my B permit for 1 year and am looking to get health insurance. I live in Bern, and was looking at Atupris with their HMO model of insurance.

Anyone here got any views/experience with same?

Also i received my B permit 4 months ago, so the clock is ticking for me, hope to get some info in here and go ahead to sign the offer.

cheers,
redman42

I have no experience with the health insurance you mention but just a tip to get a move on and sort one out of your own choosing before the state allocates one for you and you're stuck with it.

Re: Atupris HMO Health Insurance

Being British I was used to the idea of going to a GP and then receiving a referral, where necessary, for a specialist.

Possibly a silly question but have you checked on comparis for cost of cover, Atupri where cheapest for my wife and I. I have not been to the doctors since moving to CH but my wife has a couple of times and she was perfectly happy with the HMO model.

In German - good for the practice, and the wife speaks it a hell of a lot better than I do.

Re: Atupris HMO Health Insurance

The cheaper the premiums, the lower the quality. If you can wait months for your refunds then go for the cheapest,

Personally I recommend Visana HMO, with Sanacare http://www.sanacare.ch/htm/home.htm

Thank you. Atupri is not the cheapest.

Of course if you use an HMO model you won't get a bill from the DR, just from the insurance to cover your franchise. Sanacare run probably the best surgeries you will find anywhere in the world, lab tests before seeing the DR, DR has results when he sees you 10 minutes later, what is not to like?
For specialest matters, eyes etc they will let you go where you want so it's really not an issue.

Re: Atupris HMO Health Insurance

We have Atrupi for basic. I've used it loads with my pregnancy and I'm extremely happy with what they covered. Good correspondence too which I think it's important for queries
