Birth Allowance / Child Allowance

Dear everyone. I have worked Switzerland for the past over a year. this summer i started my maternity leave. I have lived in France while worked in Geneva. HealthInsurance paid in France. Does any of you have any experiense what benefit i am supposed to receive? My employer is paying my maternity allowance but is denying to pay anything else (birth allowance nor child allowance).
Since i am an EU citizen (Swedish passport holder) for sure i know i am entitled to these benefits somewhere...though Sweden does not pay a penny since i receive some benefits in CH...bit confusing...

Re: Birth Allowance / Child Allowance

I would expect that it would be from which ever country you pay tax & social insurance payments to. So France I would expect.

Yes, I would guess it should be France too. However, I found this:

https://www.ch.ch/en/family-allowances

So you could enquire at the Geneva canton offices to check as this doesn't specify one way or the other.

Re: Birth Allowance / Child Allowance

If you are not paying into the Swiss AHV fund, then the Swiss AHV fund will not be paying your family allowance!

Residents in France, get this from the French fund. Details here http://www.cleiss.fr/docs/regimes/re...ance/an_4.html

Why ?

You not paying into our system by your own choice why should you get anything from it ?

You chose what is probably cheaper alternative paying Indian system, this is the consequence.

Not alwys such a great saving paying less.....

Re: Birth Allowance / Child Allowance

Thanks roegner for quick reply.
I raised this question because in Germany also I signed agreement for not paying social security and paying Provident fund in India but still I was getting child allowance there.

Coping my reply here as well from other post.

I am not paying social security here because it is mandated by my company to sign COC. We have been told that there is some agree between India and Switzerland based on which it is mandatory to sign COC and pay social security (provident fund) in India and no need to pay in Switzerland. Similar agreement is also in place between India and Germany.
