You may "see it" that way, but that isn't the way the rest of the world "sees it".

You'll get a much more helpful response from members of this forum if you make the effort to learn how to ask questions effectively. Calling a brick a sausage isn't going to help you build a house, is it?

No. It isn't.

Why are you arguing about this? I'm trying to help you.

Quite frankly, I have no idea why I'm bothering.

Wasn't this drug at the origin of a massive lawsuit recently? It seems to have massive - and sometimes lethal - side effects that were though negligible by the pharma.
I'd be surprised. Metformin had been around for a long time and is considered safe even though it has some serious side effects if not taken properly or not controlled.

Metformin can control weight gain and help with weigh loss in people who has glucose intolerance. But it's hardly a diet pill.

It's prescribed for diabetes, pre-diabetes, PSOC and gestational diabetes. Not for weight loss.

You need a prescription in Switzerland and you should get regular checks to make use you don't fall into a coma or something.

Let me get this straight, you're on insulin for type one diabetes and have been prescribed glucophage which is essentially used for type 2 diabetes?

You really need to be seeing a specialist endocrinologist if this is the case, your metabolism is clearly in a pretty bad way.

For the last time: you were prescribed a prescription drug in England. This prescription drug is also available in Switzerland but only on prescription.

This prescription drug is not available "over the counter" in either Switzerland or England, regardless of what your views on the matter might be.

It is very important that you understand the difference between prescription drugs and "over the counter" drugs, especially if you are seeking advice on where to find them.

Re: Diet pills

Sorry Amber, over the counter means that you don't need a prescription to get it. If you need a prescription, regardless of if it's free or you pay, then of is not an over the counter drug.

Re: Diet pills

Just to recap - highlight of Act 2 is the revelation that she has both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

On a serious note, Amber if you are sourcing information on this topic from thinspiration sites I would advise you to sit down and talk with someone.

Serious stuff over - Stuff isn't adding up here Amber. You ask for diet pills and then change over to knowing they are for your diabetes. You pay for some prescriptions and not for others. And "in your city" everyone knows if you pay it is over the counter.

Do you want to start again?

Bring the prescription to the pharmacy and give it to the pharmacist.

Out of curiosity, what is the other country you are from?

You need to take it to a chemist's and have it filled. They might, however, be reluctant to fill a foreign prescription (they make exceptions sometimes, in my experience, but I wouldn't rely on it).

It is imperative, therefore, that you see a local doctor as soon as possible and get him to give you a new prescription that will get you the drugs you need.

But you said you don't pay for your insulin. Insulin is only used to treat type one diabetes ( or in rare instances to murder people) so the assumption is that you have type one diabetes.
Not really rocket science is it?
