What they're called here i guess depends on what they were called in England ?!? Are they're not various brands? Like Alli ?

You can also order from UK with sites like chemistdirect.co.uk

Those that work are amphetamin-based and forbidden in Switzerland.

They make you lose weight. But they also destroy your body and make you addicted.

Alli and co work by preventing you from digesting fat properly. It's known to give you sudden and impossible to control bouts of diarrhea. And if you're overweight because you eat too much sweet things it won't do anything.

Re: Diet pills

I want to lose weight?
Eat less and exercise more. If calories in is less than calories out then you will lose weight

But I want to continue big chocolate cakes?
You will need to exercise a lot

But I don't like exercise.
Don't eat big cakes then

I want a shortcut to get thin!
There is no shortcut to get thin - assuming thin = healthy - which it doesn't. Eat less, exercise more

It is a genetic problem!
Genetically you have been given hands with pick up food and put into your genetic mouth

I have big bones
No you don't, your bones are give or take the same size. You eat too much and don't exercise enough

I talked to my doctor at home and he said I should get surgery?
I would recommend amputation of your hands. This will stop you picking up food and putting it your mouth

You're not being very nice
I am being truthful. Sometimes the truth hurts. But don't worry, eat a chocolate cake, that will make you feel better

Re: Diet pills

If you have diabetes, it is paramount you discuss taking any pills with your diabetologist. Taking stuff recommended on a Forum or any internet site is just plain dangerous.

Diet pills

If you're diabetic, take a list of your drugs to your doctors here.

They will prescribe based on what's available in Switzerland. Most of the same drugs as in the UK, i imagine. Lots of times when you goggle a brand name drug, you'll find the name used in different countries.

Re: Diet pills

You should get it prescribed by a doctor here in Switzerland, that way you get to utilise you health insurance. Drugs in pharmacies here are expensive in comparison with the UK. Also I would be surprised if they were sold over the counter here.

Those damn doctors telling you to take stuff and not tell you which drug.

What you need to take is Paracetamoxyfrusebendroneomycin

Her mistakes are not characteristic of a non-native speaker.

I think everyone's being a bit rough on the kid.

Amber: you need to contact your old doctor and find out the name of the active ingredient of the pills you're used to taking, and make sure you know the exact dose she would recommend. You can take this information to a pharmacist and ask his opinion. It is possible that the same kind of pills aren't available in Switzerland, and even if they are, it's probably best that you consult a local doctor who knows what treatment is recommended locally. What one buys "over the counter" in Britain might be prescription-only over here.

Whatever you do, don't just wander into a pharmacist and buy any old crap. You only get one body: be nice to it.
