Giving birth in water.

Hello everyone,

I am planning to give a birth in water. Does anyone advise a good place around Lausanne to do it? Do they have such service in CHUV?
thanks!

You can do it in Morges hospital. At the CHUV you can do all your labour in the water but have to get out for the pushing.

Re: Giving birth in water.

Have a look at the Maisons de Naissance - they all tend to offer water birth and most are happy to support birth in water and not just the labour. If you're looking for a less medicalised approach then it's well worth researching them. Michele Behrens comes highly recommended! Good reports from the CHUV but still quite medicalised and it can be hit and miss depending on which midwife you're assigned. At least with the MdNs you get to know your midwife and effectively hand pick her!
