Wall mount Baby Changing unit – Reviews/recommendations

We have moved and our baby’s room is compact.
After some thought , we decided a wall mount changing table would give us nice space
Would like to hear from EF members here if you have had one.
Any recommendations/reviews etc.

P:S - No suggestions about not having a changing table or using a existing space please. Our backs are not in great condition and we find a changing table great for oil massges etc. for the baby

Re: Wall mount Baby Changing unit – Reviews/recommendations

I cannot offer any advice on a good brand or model of a wall-mounted changing unit, but thought of just mentioning a couple of things, if you have not thought of them already.

If you are renting, then do bear in mind that you will have to drill some serious holes in the wall in order to make the unit safe. This may be a big job (which you will have to make good later on) for something that you will probably need for a year or so. If you have a bad back, then you may find that as your baby gets heavier, you may suffer more from having to lift the baby onto a wall unit, than say lying him on a bed.

My personal experience as a mum to 2 boisterous kids - with my second one, we bought an Ikea dresser which also had a baby changing unit on the top, but honestly we rarely used it - it was more convenient to use our own bed or my son's bed, or even the floor.

Good luck in finding the right solution for you.

Re: Wall mount Baby Changing unit – Reviews/recommendations

I am currently using a change table, however, I knew someone in London who was using a wall mount change table. Sorry, I do not know the brand, however, I know she was very happy with it due to the limited space in her apartment. Just make sure that it is mounted well as hers got a little wobbly after a while and she had to put extra supports on it.

Re: Wall mount Baby Changing unit – Reviews/recommendations

A couple of ideas for you. A folding changing table, that would not require you to drill your walls and that could tuck behind a door (1st picture) or

a wall-mount that has leg supports (similar to 2nd picture). A friend of mine had a typical wall-mount table and then she had legs custom-made that could be popped into place on the bottom to provide extra support. Hope you find a solution that works for you.
