Pre-made / Pre-mixed Formula Milk

Hi all,

I'm trying to track down a supermarket (or any shop to be honest) preferably in the Zug/Baar/Cham that sells pre-made baby/infant milk formula.

It's available in the UK in supermarkets and places like Boots, but I cannot find it in the Coop or Migros. Does it exist here in CH? Has anyone else found a supplier? It's not urgent, but it useful and convenient when going out and about.

Thanks in advance.

AlexS

Re: Pre-made / Pre-mixed Formula Milk

I have not seen it around, but I think you could ask the pharmacy to order some in, if you really need it...

You will probably have to go to a pharmacy to get the bottles - Aptamil seems to offer what you're looking for (look at the milks with the word "flüssig" in the description)

I have definitely bought this here (Aptamil IIRC), without too much difficulty .... but as my youngest is now 8, I can't recall specifics.

I've only seen the powdered formula all over the place but never the bottles of mixed formula - probably OP will have to ask the pharmacist for them specifically as they might not be on display - and perhaps the pharmacist will be able to order them if they don't stock them in the back rooms.

Maybe a minor detail, but don't look for bottles - I seem to remember it came in mini cartons - or possibly foil containers (as in CapriSun).

Missed that, sorry - the Austrian website I linked to is also clear that mixes come in several types of containers. My bad.
I guess easiest would be to just request/order "fertige Aptamil Folgemilch flüssig" as opposed to "Aptamil in Fläschchen" so as to avoid confusion for the pharmacist as well

Edit: I just found the pre-mix specially made for preemies in case you need it, OP. HTH

Re: Pre-made / Pre-mixed Formula Milk

They are out on display in our local drugstore. Price'll give you a heart attack though!

Me, I invested in a thermos bottle and some of these little containers mighty quick. I fill and boil the kettle last thing at night, then in the morning flick it on again for half a minute or less just to get the already-boiled water up to bottle-making temperature. Fill the thermos with that, measure out four doses of formula powder for each baby, and off we go.

Alternatively, if you carry the powder with you but no water, any cafe will be glad to give you (very occasionally sell you) you hot water from their coffee machine. Requires a bit more advance planning though as you've then got to wait for it to cool down.

More or less what we used to do (cartons were just for the odd occasion and to keep in reserve). Although we put already boiled water, measured, into the bottles and just added the pre-measured powder. It is fairly easy to bring the temperature up, if it's cooled down too much, by just immersing the whole bottle in hot water.
