Dentist bill, Patient Recall

Hi,

I sent my son to the dentist for the first time and got suprised that the bill have Diagnostic "patient-recall", can anyone explain how i can get billed for recall on the first visit?

I assume the tariff code is 4001, right? That's a reduced rate, lower than a full check-up. It is usually applied when a patient got recalled less than a year after the previous check-up.

So your dentist probably thought it might be indecent to charge the full amount for that simple case, which is an honorable thing. The stupid computer couldn't read the doctor's mind, though, so it just put what programmers told it to put, i.e. recall check-up.

If my assumption is correct, please stick to that guy. Only few dentists have the decency to do such.
