Ice Hockey for English Speaking Teens

I have a 14 year old son who has played hockey in the US for the past 8 years. I was hoping for find a club for him in Zurich. Does anyone know of any American Speaking clubs? We'll be located somewhere on the western side of the lake and he'll attend ZIS. Any contacts I can make for him ahead of his arrival would be greatly appreciated!

I think that is impossible. I've been looking that for years and in the end I find nothing

Re: Ice Hockey for English Speaking Teens

All ice rinks have junior teams but would all be in German. My son joined a football team when he arrived and that helped him pick up the lingo quicker.
You don’t need to talk a lot when playing hockey or football. Putting him in an English speaking team would be a missed opportunity to help settle in with local kids.

Re: Ice Hockey for English Speaking Teens

Just find a local team and take him along to training they will be very happy to have somebody of a good standard. When my boy started Ice hockey at Wetzikon it was a good mix of players even Girls. They put them in a team to suit their standard. Most trainers speak English (some are even north American) so dont be scared get in amongst them straight away enjoy Switzerand and the Swiss people. some of them are great people and very helpfull especialy when you have something in common like sport.
