Summer courses for teens Geneva area

My 16 year-old son is coming to spend July in Switzerland . He is interested in learning French, undertaking some daily sports activities and (my addition) heavy socializing with international peers.

I have come across a number of "live in" programs such as College du Leman, Le Rosey, etc. which last around three weeks. Some of these take place in the Geneva area and others do so in the mountains. I was wondering if somebody knew of comparable "day" programs where with a similar duration and mixed agenda, the student would at the end of each day, go back home instead.

Thanks,

S.

Hi, I'm 17 and I live in Geneva and attend College du Leman, one of the schools you mentioned. I'm also looking for a "day student" summer program to do what your son is interested. I haven't had much luck yet, so please let me know if you find something!

Thanks,
Maya

Hello,Maya:

In fact one of the schools that offers day summer camp is Leman, but I guess that for you it is not an option!

Thank you, but indeed I'd rather not stay at my school. In fact, I have friends who are counselors there, so it'd be a little odd :-)

Maya:

I thought so, and it is very understandable. In confidence, would you recommend CduL for its summer courses? I am going to visit them next week while I am looking for houses and will probably reserve a space for Pietro.

Are you on Facebook? Maybe Pietro and you can discuss this directly?

On my part I shall keep you informed if I hear about other day camps.

Good weekend!

Ivan

If it's Village Camps you're talking about, it's pretty cool so I'd recommend it. CDL might do other stuff though, I'm not sure.

Yes, of course he can add me on facebook: Maya Grodman. I'd be happy to show him around or just be a friend when he arrives.

Re: Summer courses for teens Geneva area

I checked Village Camps because it looked cool to me too, but they are fully booked.

Pietro will reach you on Facebook.

May I ask why do you prefer day camp over boarding yourself?

Thanks a lot for your help,

Ivan

Re: Summer courses for teens Geneva area

Well, I've been going to sleep away camps all my life, and this is the first summer I'm staying home. I've got two jobs and a musical to occupy myself with, but I also want to take more french courses. So, I need the courses to fit into my day, and not have it be the focus of everything.
