Try a google search for Singen. There are several there and it is nearer to Zurich than Konstanz. My wife went to one but I forget the name, it was just a 4-5 minute walk from the train station.

Re: I am looking for a dentist in Germany close to Zurich

If I may suggest, it might be more useful to find an ethical and quality oriented dentist in Zürich. Ultimately, this is far more important than driving hours to save a few francs. Believe me, it will save you a bundle and help you keep your teeth.

In our office (www.cosmodent.ch) there is a lady dentist who shall never be rich. Her philosophy of care is minimal invasive and she only does want is necessary, no matter what. I am amazed by her. (I'm an American Dental Hygienist with 35 years experience in 5 countries and 4 languages)

Name:
Dr. Corina Bosshard
044 266 1111
Speaks English/ Very Gentle/ Quality work/ Reasonable prices
www.cosomodent.ch

Another fact, which is VERY important...not all European countries have professionally trained dental hygienists. (Germany have VERY few, France has none....) Best investment you'll ever make for your budget and teeth.

Re: I am looking for a dentist in Germany close to Zurich

my experience with dorrow clinic was quite bad. It seem to me like thier intention was to rip us off for thousands of euro knowing that we came from Switzerland. And this was without any proper/logical/understandable reasoning for proposed treatment.

Instead we looked for another and got our job done for less than 700 EURO at http://www.zahn-kuenste.com/en

Re: I am looking for a dentist in Germany close to Zurich

Wifey and I have been using Dorrow for several years and have no complaints. I've experienced cleanings, fillings, and fixing a chipped molar and everything has been great. Once I had dental hygienist that may have been considered a bit over-zealous, but man were my teeth clean.

Wifey had some straightening Invisalign-type stuff done as well. She visited a few dentists in CH before and the cost difference for this was significant.

FWIW, my mother works for a dentist who I still go visit when I'm home. He made a comment that the filling work I had done at Dorrow was good.

Based on our experiences, I can recommend Dorrow.

YaPaY, pricing at the border clinics will be essentially the same as in Switzerland. Don't confuse the price a German will pay (they are partially covered by national dental insurance) and the price you will be charged since you are not covered. Ask for an itemized breakdown and exercise commons sense. Dental cleaning in Germany can be dodgy - the national dental insurance covers only a 5-min cleaning and the profession of dental hygienist is not well-developed. Quality, like everywhere, will vary greatly. The second-worst dental work we have seen was from a dentist in Konstanz. There are certainly good doctors there as well - couple of Deniza's school colleagues from Mainz and at least one former student (that we know of) have practices near the border in Germany and Austria.
