14 year old daughter coming from UK for 3 weeks

Hi folks

I am a single dad and My daughter is coming end of this week for a three week period to spend time with her dad during school holidays. I have loads of ideas for the weekends and evenings. I will be able to works some days from home but most days I have to go to office. My main problem is keeping her entertained during day time when I must be in office.

Question: does anyone know of any summer kids clubs or day time activities for an English speaking 14 year old girl? Is anything happening in town for kids these days? She has some German knowledge but that is really very basic. Any helps or tips is appreciated. I live in Zurich Canton near Meilen.

I am in any case so excited to have her for 3 continuous weeks

Many thanks.

Is there a community centre 'gemeinschaftZentrum' in your local area? i suggest that you try there for ideas, also the local library will probably have a community noticeboard.

do not be put off by needing something in english, although you could also try the international or bilingual schools to see if they can suggest something (but it is possible they are already closed and you might not get an answer)...

Is there a pool near you? She might not mind going there alone.
All depends if she is a very sociable person or not. But as a teen I would not have minded sitting at home relaxing, reading

What about the Migros Klubschule? Could she find something there which interests her?

I know from experience it's possible to do a lot of creative work when you don't know a lot of the language - gestures go a long way and it's a great way to improve your language skills.
