Re: occupational therapy available in swiss

There are apparently two associations for rehabilitation clinics in Switzerland. You might wish to contact them for a further reference:

http://www.swiss-reha.com/

This association focuses on rehabilitation of children and young people:

Good luck!

What kind of occupational therapy do you want?

I have occupational therapy (called Ergothérapie in French speaking Switzerland). I attend a psychiatric clinic twice a week because my occpational therapy is for my mental health issues.

But an occupational therapist can work in many areas...

So, if you don't mind sharing a little more information, we might be able to help you more.

Also, be aware that your son will need to be a resident of Switzerland, have valid health insurance, and be prescribed occupational therapy by a doctor here. As far as I know, you can't just turn up at a centre without warning!

And he could not become a resident without you or your husband getting a job here and him coming as your dependent. Getting hired as a non-EU national is very difficult here. Whether there would be any exceptions for medical treatment that would allow you to bring him here without being a resident I don't know.

Switzerland does cater to medical tourists who are funding their own care. One can apply for a visa for a medical stay:

https://www.bfm.admin.ch/bfm/en/home...reise/faq.html

Scroll down to 'What type of visa is appropriate for my travel purpose'.

However, the OP should be aware of the costs of medical care for non-residents. Add to that cost of accommodation, etc.

I have no idea how difficult it might be to obtain such a visa, nor what is required - but start your questions with the BfM.

Everything has a price .. I imagine one can simply come as a health tourist and pay for whatever is required.

Some famous people have been educated or medically treated here, Kim Jong Un springs to mind

Of course one can get Therapy without being a national or resident or even having a valid health insurance if he is ready to pay per session in cash.

Re: occupational therapy available in swiss

A Swissinfo article from 2011: Health tourism is big business; foreign medical tourists, especially the wealthy, are indeed welcome:

http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/hospital...rists/29588036

To the OP, if you can give more information on the type of occupational therapy your son needs, perhaps we might be able to better suggest some providers.
