BellaCiao has slipped a little
Gambling and what to do if it comes in your family

So guys this is the problem. One of my very best friends has a friend who is married now 10 years and been with guy before marriage 4 years. They now have 3 kids. The problem is he is a cronical gambler and he doesnt want to admit it. He gambles his salary and leaves her with no food or anything. Plus hes been mentaly abusing her, insulting her and treathing to take her kids away. He wakes up in a midlle of night to insult her and everything. He doesnt want to go to rehab. Its crazy because he dont thinks its a problem. Over 10 years he gambled 500000 fr and spend all her saving. What do you guys think is that her faulr because she doesnt wanna leave him. Clearly she likes what he does to and doesnt want to live him. I could not believe that stuff like this still exist. Some women are so blinded and stupid.

I'm sure your "very best friend" friend would really appreciate you posting her deeply private situation publicly to a bunch of random people on the internet.

500k CHF gambled in 10 years? That's not really gambling, that is normal life going out in Switzerland

My wife left me because of my compulsive gambling.

I'd do anything to win her back.

In the Swiss Romand region there is Cipret. I imagine there's a Swiss German equivalent where she could find someone to talk to about the problem.

Excuse my stupidity .. (ok i know you won't) ..

But where in CH does one gamble compulsively??

In the UK there are machines in every cafe/bar/pub and multiple betting shops in every street.. But here, where are they? Lottery? EuroMillions? Casino?

Yes online gambling is the worse, because you can play it 24/7 there is not limit.

But traditional casinos are nonetheless quite popular.

In defense of Texas Holdem, it isn't exactly gambling. That is a competitive game requiring some mathematical imagination, psychology and nerves of steel.
