The worst part is I am losing it. I forget everything, I can't focus and I panic when I realise what I have f@cked up for the day.

I am scared it's gonna affect my business as I struggle to keep my schedule in my head, and it's getting embarrassing. I am sick of appologising and trying to excuse myself over a missed booking but it's hard to explain because I'm not sure myself, what is happening to me.

I started taking some herbal tablets when I was getting up to 10 flushes a night and totally not sleeping. So now they have settled down but my head is all over the place. Did the tablets work? Was it coincidental? Are they affecting my brain? I'm not looking for answers from you guys, just trying to show my confusion.

Just thought I'd vent.
Weew, yes I can see that this is scary. Guess all you can do is try to break the circle of panicking when it comes over you. I hope you have someone who holds on to that thread when you go too high. And remember it's some natural phase and not an illness to be scared of ..... after all, puberty was no fun either. In the mean time, just keep venting

I actually thought I should get a PA for the interim.
I think you can do it yourself, you just need to maybe change some habits. Good luck with it Debs.

Re: I'm going through menopause, what's your excuse?

So like most things, you need to practice. Practice keeping lists and writing down crap. If you've never done it before, you have to get used to it. I'm learning this too. Slowly. So not a list taker writer of stuff down myself.

Also, if you're stressing over it, you're more likely to forget....i always want to slap people who tell me to relax, but there you have it.

If you can afford a PA, that could help too. You deserve it.

Dude, I do. It can be staring at me in the morning and be gone 2 hours later.
My constant accessory at work is a good looking A4 notebook.
Looks pretty cool and professional.

I note down everything - with my own codes and tick boxes of course - so if I need to refer back to banal comments, I have them there. I don't have the impression that my memory is failing, just that I can't be bothered to remember insignificant stuff / sh.. anymore and prefer to focus on using my experience to improve / build-on the "big picture".

Re: I'm going through menopause, what's your excuse?

Only thing I remember without fail, are my eyedrops for glaucoma.

I'm not sending anyone a snap-shot of my computer desk, or the side of my kitchen cuboard, or my bedroom desk, or my piano, or the little table inside the living room door... Fortunately, I own shares in Post It. I have a birthday calendar beside my computer which should enable me to remember birthdays but doesn't because I forget to look at it. I have a 'family calendar' for visits and other appointments plus 'minor' arrangements, a phone/agenda to put 'vital' stuff in which synchronises with my computer if I remember to plug it in. Which I often don't..

I can never remember the date (what's new?). I often don't know the day either.

I remember mealtimes only because Mr. L sits beside me at his computer and says, at regular intervals - 'doesn't time fly' in German, which, translated more accurately, means 'I'm hungry'.

Sorry, this is all no help at all, but reminds you that you have buddies on here with similar problems.

Now what was it I was supposed to do when I had finished those emails? I wrote it down somewhere. Where did I leave that list?

Re: I'm going through menopause, what's your excuse?

I have a large business diary on my dresser and write everything I have to do daily and when I have done it tick it off - I also have made the rule to look at it at breakfast time/lunch/supper so there are 3 times of not forgetting!

I am like Longbyt in that half the time I never know what day it is and like Deborah have my own business so travel a lot.

I have often wondered what would happen if I was arrested by the police and made to answer where I was on a particular day or time because frankly I can't remember where I am from one day to the next.

Are you all aware that a new series of Grace and Frankie was released today on Netflix?

Wanna share one?!

I'm OK at remembering big stuff - or irrelevant stuff  But remembering something I absolutely have to get done? I manage to forget it in the time between having the thought and picking up a pen or phone to note it down

I also blame it on some of the personal sh!t I'm still having to deal with - far too many things at once. I'd love the freedom just to concentrate on the business.

Actually, I'm binge watching. I'm on episode 6. Pertinent to our menopause discussion, Frankie's yam lube is on point.

Wait until you reach the final episode of series 2 (just finished my own binge watching)!
I find it great to see these topics addressed so openly.

I think series 2 was much better in general. But the last episode, omg, was so funny. I was almost crying.

And yes, they tackle a lot of important issues.

CRAFT moment.

"Can't remember a F-ing thing", happens when you walk from one room to another and just stand there. Then go back and just sit. Mulling.

When i was home last week, i hand jived at my mother. Trying to find a word. She called it a Senior Moment.
