Hi,

I'm about to move into an apartment in Hunenberg and I'm looking for an English speaking doctor in the area.

I've looked at the website that list all the doctors in Hunenberg - but it doesn't mention anything about languages. Before I email them directly can anyone give me any pointers?

Just email them, you'd be surprised how many people speak English here.

When looking for a new doctor I've always actually gone into their offices to make my first appointment or to get on their books. That way, if the receptionist doesn't speak English, which has happened a few times, I have more chance of making myself understood than on the phone. I have not heard of a doctor not speaking English, and that's after having to see quite a few different ones myself and after spending a few days in hospital where I saw many different ones each day.

I decided that by limiting myself to known English speaking doctors/dentists/hairdressers etc that it was making life more complicated than it needed to be. More than a year later, everyone has spoken English. Having said that, it is the receptionists that are likely to speak less/none, but once you start speaking the language, even a little bit, you'll find yourself able to make appointments easily and they are usually very helpful.

No problems, there is a very helpful brochure put together by the Dept of Economic Affairs in Zug Called "Zug Doctors & Dentists" complete with all languages spoken.
