Having a beer belly is a status symbol..

Your wife should be proud of it and show it to all her friends, she should laugh at people who don't have one, they are obviously poor or refugees or something.
A barrel is always better than a six pack.

Noooooo, that is sooooo very, very wrong on so many places, if a man wants to look thinner then use cling film for gods sake.

Get one of these http://www.swisstravelcenter.ch/shop/produkt-detail/408 and start exploring the countryside around where you live, on foot.

Get a pedometer for your phone.

Swim regularly.

Walk to the next tram/busstop rather than the nearest.

If you are married to CathHarmony maybe stop wasting time coming up with polls, accept that life happens - you'll spread whatever happens as you get older + appreciate waking up not dead tomorrow.
no we cant be related by birth or marriage,

the thread and poll options are

a) missing a dog/animal option
- Should I make my life better and lose weight by getting a dog?

b) it hasn't riled up a male mod to the point they change the options and votes
- Should my wife divorce me find a better male partner?
- Should my wife get a cute fit boyfriend?
- Should my wife divorce me and then sue me for acute embarrassment.

something like that

In the German speaking part of this country you measure weight gained by kilos but weight lost by pounds, one pound (inaccurately) assumed to stand for 0.5 kg.

Having lost six pounds sounds much more impressive than a measly three kilos.

So, I'm male and in my early forties.

My wife says that just maybe, just maybe I could do with tightening up that middle bit. Bit flabby where it shouldn't be.

I'm now in great distress and turn to the font of all advice (or opinion) in Swiss () to ask for guidance, i.e. the EFing community.

So, you EFers, what should I do?

Explain to her that your 6pack is still there.... just behind the keg.
