@Alkalarian

I am not going to groan you or give you negative feedback, but I will say one sentence in response to your opening post. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

No thanks. I'd rather just poke fun at it.

In French we say that ridicule doesn't kill.

Maybe it doesn't, but it still can be an efficient weapon.

In any case, isn't laugh the best medicine? (Wondering who's going to get the last one on this thread)

Are we keeping this alive until Friday, or what?

I think I kind of burnt my powder last night. Without any fresh material it's looking pretty dark on my side.

Besides, Friday isn't going to happen, the world will end on Thursday 10:00 pm GMT latest, one way or another.

Urs,

It doesn't matter when they inform us which side caused the end of the world, the point is that the world will be over.

Newfoundland will enjoy an additional 30 minutes, because it is their tradition to have everything half an hour later.

It's not what I wrote. You seem to have missed my point though:
Since the world ends by (non-)Brexit, Armageddon happens when
the voting locations close, thus nobody will be alive by friday.

Having said that, everything arrives here with ten years delay so we're safe for while anyway.

Re: Why Are Cancer Genes Changed Based on Beliefs?

I am very disappointed how few people are taking this seriously. I know for a fact that if you really really believe in something then it happens.

For example - I really really believe that this is bull-crap and believed so hard that a complete idiot would post it on a forum of which I am a member.

BOOM!!!

And it happened!

What more proof do you need??

Ten years is enough time to gather signatures for a referendum. Just because the EU is or is not the end of the world doesn't mean we have to participate.

Re: Why Are Cancer Genes Changed Based on Beliefs?

I've met a number of people here who use methods I can only describe as "woo" to deal with cancer. And they are very strident, and sure they have the answer.

Having been through the conventional treatment, and currently with no evidence of disease, the best thing for me to do is to walk away from the bullshit.

A positive attitude may make you take better care of yourself, it may have other benefits, but it will not rearrange your cells. Cemeteries are full of people who had positive attitudes.

There was an initiative to have "Alternativmedizin" (i.e. make-believe, essetnially the same as voodooo) paid for by mandatory health insurance. The conclusion of the fact that it passed: The majority of the voters then, and probably of the population altogether, think there's something to it.

The advantage to this cure is that you only need a brain. (Brains are increasingly about more than just being rational). This is a more advanced variant of: https://youtu.be/FBWjNlBko70
