Hi,
I am hoping that someone can recommend an English speaking pediatrician in Baden or Wettingen. The one I was hoping to go to one in Wettingen is now on maternity leave and her clinic isnt taking any more patients till September. My child is due in a few days and I really have to find one!!
So all you english forum members living in Baden or Wettingen... canyou help me? Do you have any one that you can recommend?

Dr Fuchs speaks english. I have not met Dr Frei - the other of the 3 paeds in wettingen.
I assume you have found one in the mean time though...

Due in a few days....why do you need a paediatrician?
You need a midwife or a gynaecologist?
The hospital or clinic will give you a paediatrician or the gynae will recommend one.

Dr Ester Pfyl in Baden? She is very very good but may not take you on SUCH SHORT notice.
Call the kantonspital, they may help to find one (who is not on vacation).

Actually moost doctors in CH, can speak English.

No, she doesn't need a midwife or gyno.
She was asking for a recommendation for a paediatrician, for the baby. I already provided this information. While the baby will be checked by the hospital's paediatrician, you need to have one in private practice for after you take the baby home.

However, if anyone is looking for an English speaking OB/GYN, an excellent choice would be Dr. Senn. Her practice is located in the Klinik Sonnenblick in Wettingen.

There was an article in the Aargauer Zeitung on 17. July with a photo of a newborn born there. She was the 222nd baby born there this year. Last year there were 444 babies born there.

There are other OB/GYN affiliated with this clinic. You can see the names on their website (only in German) http://www.sonnenblick.ch/

I have now found a paediatrician recommend by my obs and gyn (who as well is great and also is a doctor who has his own practice but also works at the Sonnenblick... his name is Dr Walter Siegrist).
The paediatrician is Dr Fuchs in Wettingen and my doctor says that he is good and speaks English. I see him on the 4th of Aug and will write down how I find him.

That would be a real pity but I think it is just a rumour. Where did you hear it/read it?

Well I have just heard it from frends and I do hope that it is a rumor. The hospital is jsut great and it will be a shame for it to close.

You could ask Dr Siegrist if Sonnenblick is closing, at your 6 week checkup - he is a shareholder..

You won't have to ask Dr. Siegrist about it.
There was an article in the Aargauer Zeitung today about the clinic, it's not closing. Here is a link to an online version of the article.

Basically the clinic is under new ownership and the board will name a new director shortly. The former director, Alfred Sigrist, not to be confused with Dr. Siegrist, resigned at the end of June.

The article explains that over the years the clinic has been struggling financially with decreased revenues and operating rooms under utilized. It is a private clinic, and not everyone chooses this type of health coverage.

It is hoped that with the new ownership the financial stability of the clinic will be strengthened.

With over 450 babies born there per year, they are hoping the hospital will be perceived and recommended as an outstanding facility for births.

Just wanted to give an update in case anyone does find this thread. There was just an announcement in the local paper that the practice of Dr. Frei, a paediatrician for 30 years in Wettingen, is changing hands to:
