I am looking for an English speaking midwife to assist us when we come home from hospital with our baby

My hospital gave me a list of the "hebammë" and I just went thru the list asking if they spoke English.

I know of an english midwife in the Bern area. www.midwife-hebaumme.ch. Her name is Sue Brailey and I've heard very good things about her. I'm expecting myself, so not a personal recommendation and I'm not sure how far she'd travel, but it might be worth asking her or at the very least she maybe be able to recommend you someone directly?

Béatrice Prader is excellent - has a wealth of experience, makes baby and you feel comfortable and is extremely knowledgeable in breast-feeding - how to get it right, what to do if there are any complications etc. etc. I cannot speak highly enough of her! She is not native English speaking, but speaks it well enough. I'm not sure how "far" the midwives venture out of their areas. Béatrice is in Kreis 7. Perhaps she can recommend someone in 3, if you can't get her yourself.
