Hi,

good questions. AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) is the 'sister' group of Al-Anon and helps alcoholics is their first point of contact for recovery.

However, as most alcoholics have family members also suffering from alcoholism, therefore they also belong to Al-Anon. Our meetins are open meetings, therefore, alcoholics in recovery, i.e. attending AA meetings on a regular basis, are also welcome to join in as long as the focus of the Alanon meeting is kept on Alanon and not on issues of their substance abuse.

Please note that the phone number for Alanon French part of Switzerland is: 0848 848 833, for the German part it is 0848 848 843. Also, Kathrin is only the contact person for the Zurich meeting. We will have to find a contact person for the meeting in Lausanne.

There is an additional new Eng. speaking Alanon mtg in Zurich.Thursdays 6 PM to 7 PM. at the English-speaking Catholic Mission, Neptunstr.60, 8032 Zurich Thanks.

As of August 5,the new English speaking Al Anon meeting on Thursdays in Zurich has changed it time to 18:15 (6.15 PM). The meeting is at the English speaking Catholic Mission, Neptunestrasse 60 in Zurich.

Dear Expats,

The English-speakingThursday Night Alanon meeting in Zurich, will have a new location as of February 3, 2011. It will be at the Salvation Army(Heilsarmee), at Helvetiaplatz. The room is on the ground floor, first door on the left, as you come in. Time: 18.15-19:15. Thank you.
