Any Indoor play area or a group for mums and kids in NYON

Hello,

We have recently moved to Nyon and I have a 2 years and 8 months old son. I am looking for an Indoor play area or mums and toddler group in Nyon. Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.

Re: Any Indoor play area or a group for mums and kids in NYON

Hi, we've lived inNyo for almost a year now and have a son almost 3.

There are a few around the area.
For a full list of Childrens facilities
http://www.nyon.ch/puce_a_l_oreille/jeunesse.htm
It's an extensive list.

A few others I know about La Nacelle on Route De St-Cergue and Chatterbox (www.thechatterbox.ch)both next door to each other.

There is a English group called Mops which is on a Tuesday morning around 9:30. It at a church on Rue Juste Olivier. Not far from the train station) There are notices on the door in English for that one.

There is one over on the Fontaines. The name of which escapes me.

I would do a search on Nyon and children on the forum as some of these questions have been answered before.

You will find over the next few weeks these facilities close up for the Summer and things get pretty dead around here.

If you are looking for things to do places to go around the area there plenty around. The local outdoor pool at Colovray is very nice right on the lake. Signal De Bougy is a great place for kids and big kids like me

Anyway if you need any advice about the area or anything just let me know always glad to help. (in other word too much time on my hands right now.)

Enjoy your stay in Nyon.

Colovray is just to the West of Nyon. It is possible to walk there but best by car.

Go down to lake and take the main road heading towards Geneva. It's about 5 minutes by car. Follow the signs to the Centre sportif. There will be a football ground on your right. On the left there is a reasonably large car park which is free. It's on the lakeside.

There are three pools there. One for regular lane swimming, a baby / toddler pool and the non swimmers pool. I love the non swimmers pool, they have water jets in there and if you put your head a water level it looks like an infinity pool across the lake very cool.

Also there is a play area and a snack bar / restaurant and changing rooms toilets and plenty of grassy areas and some shade. The lac is accessible from there too..

Children under 6 get in free. Adults are 7 or 8 francs I believe. If you live in Nyon (i.e. not Prangins or Eysins) and if you go regularly it is worth going to the town hall into the office you registered in. Take a passport photo of each adult and some ID. Then ask for a Carte de legitimation pour la piscine et la plage. They then give you a blue card which they stamp with your photo on it. Take this with you whenever you go to the pool and show it on entrance when you pay you get I think 2 francs reduction possibly 3. I cannot remember exactly.

You can buy entry tickets in bulk, season pass type thing.

This facility is open May through September. During the other months of the year there is an indoor pool open which is back in town.
