Buying kids clothes online

Does anyone know any reasonable swiss websites where I can buy kids clothes online? I used to use Next and Adams and various others in the UK, but having made a few orders here I've been hit with massive customs bills which seem to be rather random. Happy to 'buy local', just need to know which sites to try.
Thanks

Re: Buying kids clothes online

I know this will sound ridiculous, but wouldn't you be better taking them with you and buying in shop? Sizes vary so much and you don't really get an idea of the quality when buying online. It's what we do

Re: Buying kids clothes online

I would agree getting them into the shop with you is better especially as the sizes may work out a bit different to what you're used to in the UK. Other alternative is to escape once a year and do a good shop at Next/M&S etc. I confess to doing that although I have found c&a to be quite good for children's clothes.

In Switzerland, best to visit the shops, C&A is not bad so also is H&M or Zara. These shops are good during the sales. There are other independent children's shops as well you can visit as well. Happy Shopping

www.laredoute.ch
www.vertbaudet.ch

www.jako-o.ch

Are my favourites. You can always send things back that don't fit, but, of course you will have to pay the postage (CHF 6.00) to send the things back.

Which is fine, if your kids love - or even just like - to shop. My boys really, really hate clothes shopping. If I get a selection from an online shop, however, they can try the stuff on at home. Then, they decide if they want to keep it or if I should send it back. They don't usually like the thought of sending things back, so my choices usually work out fine.

The only thing I do take them out for is shoes, which have to fit properly - but I won't go into the horror of that here !

Re: Buying kids clothes online

Crumbs, I agree 100% with you, but in our situation with our daughter being the fussy little bugger that she is it is in my mental interest to go with her.
15 minutes whining is nothing compared to the nightmare of trying to return stuff without the necessary language skills to do it. The red cross have benefitted hugely from my often costly sartorial mistakes.

Re: Buying kids clothes online

In my experience the delivery times with Quelle are very long - about 1 week after ordering I received a mail confirming shipment. When the clothes hadn't arrived 2 weeks after that, I was told that it takes so long because the clothes are shipped from Germany ! Nice to know!

I admit language skills can be a hindrance in ordering and sending back. But LaRedoute and Vertbaudet as indeed many online clothes shops have a pretty straightforward system:
Keep what you like.
Re-fold the clothes you want to return and place them in the polythene wrappers they came in.
Put the whole bundle into the packet or box they came in.
Take the sticker with the return address off the invoice slip/delivery note and stick it onto the box/packet and off you go to the post office.
Then deduct what you sent back from the invoice and pay the rest....

I agree with C&A - good prices for organic cotton jeans for kids (and men)... And their styles fit my slim boys better too.

Re: Buying kids clothes online

Keep buying online for the UK or Germany... Just stay under CHF60 and you won't be paying customs or duties. It is much cheaper and you can find soooo many more options
