I know it goes against the grain and I hate to sound like someone's mother (which I am!), but if you do get replies, pleeeeaase get your parents involved in the initial social arrangements. English Forum is a truly kind place which has helped people of all ages to make lasting friends, but you never know...

If you are starting school next week (as our daughter is), you could contact your school and ask for a class list. Phone someone on there (or a couple of people) and have a day out at the pool.

Are you interested in field hockey? I know a club, called BSC Young Boys they are allways looking for new players. Please let me know if you like to have contact with this club.

Since you seem computer literate (knowing to check out this forum), don't forget myspace or facebook. We moved here in August, and prior to our arrival my son had a list of friends he had already met 'on line' via the same 'group' . He was able to meet up with them and such via the information he found on-line. As mentioned before though, please be sure to keep your activities known to your parents. Best of luck!
