Baby Bouncer - Where can I find one in the Zurich/Winterthur area?

Hi,

I'm trying to find a free-standing baby bouncer for my six month old like these:

I tried to order one through amazon.de, but they don't ship baby stuff to Switzerland (how very odd!). Can anyone recommend a shop in Winterthur or maybe Zurich that sells this type of baby apparatus?

Thanks!

- Krys

Re: Baby Bouncer - Where can I find one in the Zurich/Winterthur area?

My friend bought one for her daughter and she is very not happy to be in.... She wants to walk around and feel angry to not be able to go somewhere with it!

I have a walker I got from my parents, and she loved it so much! She was so happy to just follow us all around and to go explore by herself.

Of course, you have to be sure it is safe! In a safe environment, it is absolutly no problem at all and babies love it!

You might want to consider that option as well...

Nil

Not sure that the model with wheels is sold any more. Too many accidents where the child went down the stairs.

Never heard of that, but you can buy babygates for the stairs to prevent the baby falling down the stairs

You can't buy those one in Canada anymore because of those stupids one who didn't care enough of the stairs... My parents went to buy it in USA.

But I saw them here and in Germany. If you take care properly of the stairs, it is safe.

I saw them in Babyone!

Re: Baby Bouncer - Where can I find one in the Zurich/Winterthur area?

Me and the missus spent many depressing hours looking around for kit for our baba here in Switzerland. Again and again we found that the prices were absurd and the choice terribly limited.

We're heading for the Frauenverein baby clothes sale in Erlenbach in October to see if that's worthwhile.

Thank God for our english friends and relatives who have been stuffing their suitcases for us.

Couple of examples:

Baby bouncing / rocking chair: Switzerland: 2 makes available inc. Baby Bjorn, average price CHF 90, both built like battleships. UK 100's of makes, finally chose one that plays strange music and vibrates on request, price GBP 15. He goes all bug-eyed when the vibrate is on full.

Babygrows: Mothercare top quality, GBP 7 for 3, Switzerland CHF 16 for 1.

etc., etc....

P.S. He got threatened with his first fine yesterday, aged 9 weeks, as for some reason there was no record in the appropriate Amt that he had health insurance.

Cheers

Jim

Babies can also reach new heights and mobility before the parents are ready.

For OP: I can see your baby using this thing for about 2 months if you're lucky. If your baby can't sit by themselves yet, then they soon will and they won't want to be trapped in that thing.

Wouldn't a bouncy seat with hanging toys achieve the same thing? Or a highchair and some toys? One less thing to store..

Unfortunately, our child is incredibly tall for his age, and he outgrew his bouncy-seat with hanging toys at about three months, so we left it behind when we moved to Switzerland.

I think he would probably use the bouncer for a good while. Right now he's really bored with his playmat. And he's not sitting on his own yet, so he's really can't play with toys unless he's sitting in someone's lap or in his Bumbo.

A friend of ours is visiting us, and going to Germany first. If we can't find what we want in Zurich, I think we're going to order one to be sent to her (Amazon.de doesn't ship baby items to Switzerland), and have her bring it to us.
