Does anyone know a place when I can avail of 3D/4D ultrasound? In Zurich, Zug, or Lucerne area.

I found one in Lausanne (see attached link) but I prefer one closer to home.

What is the 4th "D"?

Unispital zurich has them but I don't think you can use it unless you really need it, in which case you won't want it.

The fourth D, I think, normally relates to movement of a 3D object.

I am ready to be corrected by the graduates of ETH or EPFL.

On the other hand, hubbie isn't too keen -- he thinks it's kinda creepy to see baby in its uterine home ..with all the guff around him/her

If you are living in Switzerland and planning on continuing the pregnancy and spending a lot of time throughout the pregnancy here I would really advise you to find a gynae here. Even if you do not plan to have the baby in Switzerland it is worth having a doctor here to monitor the pregnancy. Good Luck.

My wife went to Dr Felix Hammer für both our sons and the guy is awesome! Speaks excellent (near perfect) English and has top quality ultrasound equipment too

oh and he is the high doctor at the private bethesda clinic (or something like that) and is also respected within the gyno community from what I understand...

A week 10 untrasound might cost 300 to 500 francs depending on the doctor. You *should* have your blood and urine checked as well.

You might as well wait until week 12 when they can do the first trimester test at the same time.

I think there are no ultrasound machine outside the hospital or clinic. Because it is operated by a doctor. So, I guess I cannot give you a place on where you can have an ultrasound outside the hospital.
