Re: Gynocologist

I pay around 30frcs for my check ups, and the insurance pays the rest.

Re: Gynocologist

A Pap smear and ultra-sound scan here costs around CHF200, if I remember correctly.

As for reimbursement, a lot depends on the health insurance you purchase.

Sadly not - if you are staying in Switzerland for more than 3 months you are obliged to pay for health insurance. There is a lot more information on this in the insurance section of this forum, for example this thread which gives a good overview:

Health Insurance FAQs

Sadly it is all rather complicated, as I have just been discovering having gone through the process last month. I would try contacting Jenny who is a member on this forum, has helped me out a lot, and is a specialist in health insurance:

Re: Gynecologist

It takes time to get used to the system but (in my opinion) its better than the NHS.

Unfortunately in Switzerland you dont get anything for free - you will also have to pay for contraceptive pills (I am around 50 chufs for 3 months supply). So you might want to stock up when you are next visiting home.
