I live in Zug and for various reasons do not want our kids to go to the local school, it's reputation is awful. Someone has suggested that if we use a tagesmutter in a different region then the kids should be able to go to school in that region. This seems too simple - does anyone know if it is true and if so, what are the grounds for this - I am not working?

I'm sure I have read this too. Whether is was Canton Zug or not I cannot say. I suppose the principal behind the ruling is that when a child is taken early to a childminder and has to go there again after school, it would be very impractical for the child to have to go to a school near its home instead of one nearer the childminder. I think you'd have a job to make it stick though, if you don't go out to work.
