hey everyone in English Forum.

i am a non-eu with B-permit married to a swiss girl.i have being living my whole life with with my maternal family's name because i never knew who my father was until recently i was contacted by a lawyer that i was the sole heir to my unknown late father's estate.
After more investigation i finally knew who he was and his origin.
my question is that, i want to take my father's family name and here in switzerland i am known with maternal family's name.can somebody tell me the procedure of name changing in switzerland because this will affect my wife and child's names.

In Switzerland name changes are dealt with by the canton. It is not all that easy as you must demonstrate important reasons for wanting the change.

I understand this is a personal question, but why do you wish to take the name of your father if it's your mother's family that shaped your life? Good luck however you decide.
