Amazing with how many great things the Greek came up with !!!
This idea, having a Mother's Day, is apparently also one of theirs.

Sutter, Many thanks indeed. I was going to go out and see what crappy card. I might be able to find for my Mum and then go and buy a stamp and post it. Total cost, probably 10 chfs. I've seen Moonpig advertised on British TV, but never used it before today. So easy, so good, value for money and highly recommended. My dear old Mum, will love the personalised card.

Re: Mother's Day

Funny, I have just ordered a moonpig card for my mum for mother's day and then saw this thread.
Just wanted to share another great UK site - www.arenaflowers.com - the flowers are really fantastic - a lot for your money and always really fresh. Service is perfect too.

Happy Mother's Day 2009 - A day for Peace

To all the mums and mums to be...

~~~ Happy Mothers Day ~~~
for new mothers, coming to terms with new responsibility
for expectant mothers, wondering and waiting
for those who are tired, stressed or depressed
for those who struggle to balance the tasks of work and family
for those who are unable to feed their children due to poverty
for those whose children have physical, mental or emotional disabilities
for those who raise children on their own
for those who have lost a child
for those who care for the children of others
for those whose children have left home
and for those whose desire to be a mother has not been fulfilled
Bless all mothers, that their love may be deep and tender,
and that they may lead their children to know and do what is good,living not for themselves alone.
The mother's heart is the child's schoolroom.
--Henry Ward Beecher
What a sweet and kind tribute, jrspet. Thank you. Might I add a special tribute to all of the expat mothers who have left children behind and can't be with them today. Here's to you, Mom, and remember that it is because of you and your wise teachings and capable raising that you are able to leave them in a far-away place with confidence in their ability to survive on their own.
Happy Mother's Day!
My Mother spent my child allowence on gin and cigarettes and left me a 'latch-key kid' from nine years onwards, but I'm not bitter
Re: Happy Mother's Day 2009 - A day for Peace
How about mothers who have lived their lives loving and supporting their children and gone on to the next world/their next lives/are travelling the cosmos/passed on into oblivion (whichever you believe)?
My mum was almost everything a child could wish for.
